ABOUT

Violinist Ariadne Daskalakis pursues an international career concertizing on modern and baroque violin and mentoring young professionals. She performs as soloist and has extensive experience leading chamber orchestra projects. An avid chamber musician, she has created festivals in Italy and the US, and performs regularly with chamber music partners and ensembles. Informed performance practice is one of her passions, as are interdisciplinary projects.A specialist in performance practice ranging from baroque to modern, she was hailed by German MDR Radio as a “universal specialist”.

Violinistin Ariadne Daskalakis konzertiert international auf barocker wie moderner Violine als Solistin und Kammermusikerin. Sie leitet Festivals, Ensembles und Projekte und ist Mentorin und Violin-Professorin. Informierte Aufführungspraxis gehört zu ihren Leidenschaften. Sie wurde zur "Universalspezialistin" vom MDR gekürt.

La violinista Ariadne Daskalakis si esibisce a livello internazionale con violino barocco e moderno come solista e musicista da camera. Dirige festival, ensemble e progetti ed è mentore e docente di violino. L’esecuzione storicamente informata è una delle sue passioni. È stata nominata “specialista universale” dal MDR.

Η βιολονίστρια Αριάδνη Δασκαλάκης ακολουθεί διεθνή καριέρα ερμηνεύοντας πάνω σε μοντέρνο και μπαρόκ βιολί ενώ ταυτόχρονα αποτελεί μέντορα για νέους επαγγελματίες. Εμφανίζεται ως σολίστ κι έχει μεγάλη εμπειρία ως εξάρχων ορχήστρας μουσικής δωματίου. Ως ενθουσιώδης μουσικός δωματίου, έχει δημιουργήσει φεστιβάλ στην Ιταλία και τις ΗΠΑ και συμμετέχει μέχρι σήμερα τακτικά σε συναυλίες με συνεργάτες και σύνολα μουσικής δωματίου. Ένα από τα πάθη της είναι η ενημερωμένη ερμηνευτική απόδοση, όπως επίσης και η διεπιστημονική προσέγγιση των έργων. Η ίδια αποτελεί σπεσιαλίστα στην ερμηνευτική πρακτική έργων που κυμαίνονται από το μπαρόκ έως το μοντέρνο, καθώς χαρακτηρίστηκε και από το γερμανικό ραδιόφωνο MDR ως “universal specialist” (καθολικά ειδική).

阿里亚德涅·达斯卡拉基斯(Ariadne Daskalakis)是一位活跃于国际舞台的小提琴家,精通巴洛克与现代小提琴演奏,兼具独奏与室内乐演奏家的身份。她策划并领导音乐节、乐团及艺术项目,同时任教于高等音乐学府,致力于艺术指导与人才培养。她对历史演奏法造诣深厚,并在该领域有重要影响力。曾被德国中部广播电台(MDR)誉为“全能专家”。

CONCERT PROJECTS

This summer Ariadne has given a traversal of the complete works by J.S. Bach for solo violin at the Haus der Musik Innsbruck, paired with world premieres of two works for solo violin by Fabio Nieder. She worked for the first time with the Beethoven Orchestra Bonn as leader and soloist, with performances at the famed "Redoute" in Bonn and the Kursaal Bad Godesberg. She performed with the Bach Virtuosi Festival in NYC and Portland, and led the chamber music festival "Music from Land's End Wareham" in July and August in Massachusetts.

In Montepulciano she led a choreographed concert at the Cantiere Internazionale d'Arte at the festival's 50th Anniversary in July, as musical director, together with choreographer Stephan Brinkmann. In late August she served as Juror at the Tibor Varga Int'l Violin Competition in Sion, Switzerland.

In June she returned to Innsbruck to complete the Bach/Nieder cycle, as well as to the Bach Virtuosi Festival for concerts in Portland, Maine. In July she led a project with the Beethoven Orchestra of Bonn,  with works by Mozart and Haydn and the re-discovery of  a violin concerto by Romberg.

From September 4-7 she curates the Music Academy Festival "Palazzo Ricci" Montepulciano and then gives a Violin Master Class through September 14. 

Ariadne Daskalakis is currently Artistic Director of the "Palazzo Ricci" European Academy of the Arts in Montepulciano, Italy. She founded the Chamber Music Festival "Music from Land's End Wareham" in 2012, and has collaborated with the Bach Virtuosi Festival since its inception in 2016, in Portland and NYC. She is a founding member of Ensemble Vintage Köln.

Im Frühling erwartet Ariadne Daskalakis außergewöhnliche Projekte wie die Uraufführung eines Werks für Violine Solo von Fabio Nieder in Innsbruck, Konzerte zu Ehren des Literatur-Nobelpreisträgers Jon Fosse, und eine Wiederentdeckung eines Violinkonzerts von Romberg mit dem Beethovenorchester Bonn.

Ariadne Daskalakis ist Künstlerische Leiterin der "Palazzo Ricci" Europäische Akademie der Künste Montepulciano. Sie gründete 2012 das Kammermusikfestival "Music from Land's End Wareham". Mit dem Bach Virtuosi Festival arbeitet sie eng zusammen seit der Gründung  2016, in Portland (ME) und New York City. Sie ist Gründungsmitglied des Ensembles Vintage Köln.

I prossimi appuntamenti includono una prima mondiale di Fabio Nieder a Innsbruck, concerti in onore del premio Nobel per la letteratura Jon Fosse e la riscoperta di un concerto per violino di Romberg con la Beethoven Orchester Bonn. A maggio e giugno Ariadne tornerà al Bach Virtuosi Festival di New York e Portland, per celebrare l'opera di J.S. Bach.

Η ίδια είναι σήμερα Καλλιτεχνική Διευθύντρια της Ευρωπαϊκής Ακαδημίας Τεχνών “Palazzo Ricci” στο Montepulciano της Ιταλίας. Το 2012 ίδρυσε το Φεστιβάλ Μουσικής Δωματίου “Music from Land’s End Wareham”, ενώ συνεργάζεται με το Φεστιβάλ Βιρτουόζων J.S.Bach από την έναρξή του το 2016 στο Πόρτλαντ και στη Νέα Υόρκη. Ταυτόχρονα αποτελεί ιδρυτικό μέλος του σχήματος Ensemble Vintage Köln.

Upcoming highlights include a World Premiere by Fabio Nieder in Innsbruck, concerts in honor of Nobel Literature Laureate Jon Fosse and the re-discovery of a violin concerto by Romberg, with the Beethoven Orchestra Bonn. In May and June Ariadne will be returning to the Bach Virtuosi Festival in NYC and Portland, celebrating the oeuvre of J.S. Bach.

PEDAGOGY

Ariadne Daskalakis is Professor of Violin at the Cologne Conservatory of Music and Dance (HfMT Köln), where she mentors young professionals. In her artistic work and her pedagogy she focuses on historical performance practice, ranging from baroque repertoire to contemporary music. Her students have been awarded prizes in international competitions and positions in fine orchestras (see "More" for details!)

In August 2025 she served as Juror at the Tibor Varga Int'l Violin Competition. In September she is giving a Master Class for violin at the Academy "Palazzo Ricci" in Montepulciano. 

Ariadne Daskalakis ist Professorin für Violine an der Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln. Dort bildet sie junge Berufsmusiker*innen aus. Darüber hinaus gibt sie regelmäßig internationale Meisterkursen. 

Ein Schwerpunkt ihrer künstlerischen und pädagogischer Arbeit liegt in der Entwicklung der historischen Aufführungspraxis, vom barocken Repertoire bis zur zeitgenössischen Musik.

Η Αριάδνη Δασκαλάκης είναι καθηγήτρια βιολιού στην Ακαδημία Μουσικής και Χορού της Κολωνίας (Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln), όπου καθοδηγεί νέους επαγγελματίες. Επιπλέον δίνει τακτικά masterclasses. Στο προσωπικό καλλιτεχνικό της έργο όπως και στην διδασκαλία, εστιάζει στην ιστορική πρακτική απόδοση από το μπαρόκ ρεπερτόριο έχω τη σύγχρονη μουσική.
